About Sharpe's Septic Tank & Well Drilling Service LLC

From the website of Sharpe's Septic Tank & Well Drilling Service LLC, read 15 Sept 2026. It describes what the company says it offers, not independent verification.

Sharpe's Septic Tank & Well Drilling Service installs new septic systems. Their site says that when a homeowner schedules an installation, the crew takes all of the necessary steps to leave the new system properly installed and in working order. Well drilling is the other half of the company name, so septic and well calls can go to the same office.

Update as of 31Aug26 at 1632hrs. Upgraded to 3 stars today. Sharpe's came through and reimbursed us for the $1600 out of pocket costs for the defective/damaged well pump. Appreciate that the business finally stood behind their product and reimbursed costs incurred. Do want to make sure everyone understands that McQuinn Homes, Next Generation Holdings, LLC, and their associated owners were who sold us this house and who damaged the pump and failed to disclose that significant damage, enough that Sharpe's would not warranty the work.

    Response from the owner

We are sorry this situation has become so frustrating, but several important facts are missing from this review. Sharpe’s originally drilled this well before Mr. Nugent purchased the property. After our original installation, the well was subsequently struck and significantly damaged during grading operations associated with the builder. Sharpe’s was later called back to repair that damage. This occurred before Mr. Nugent purchased the home. When the pump later failed, Sharpe’s responded and successfully obtained the replacement pump itself under warranty at no charge to Mr. Nugent. The approximately $1,000 charge was for the labor and equipment necessary to pull the failed pump and install the replacement. Prior to that work, Mr. Nugent was advised that only the roof portion of his existing pump enclosure needed to be removed for access. He later advised us that he had removed the entire structure. At his request, we then provided a temporary well cover at a reduced price, with an agreement that the full amount would be refunded when a permanent replacement enclosure was built and Sharpe’s retrieved the temporary cover. We also continued pursuing the labor expense with the builder’s successor. Mungo Homes has now issued Sharpe’s a purchase order associated with this property covering the pump removal and replacement labor, and reimbursement is being processed. Finally, Sharpe’s did not report or have Mr. Nugent’s previous review removed. A third-party review-removal company actually contacted us offering that service for a fee, and we declined. Sharpe’s did not sell this home, did not cause the prior grading damage to the well, and was not involved in what was or was not disclosed during the sale of the property. We respect Mr. Nugent’s right to be dissatisfied and to share his opinion. We simply ask that the documented facts surrounding our involvement be represented accurately.

They might know how to service and build a septic system but good lord do they not know how to drill a well. I am a hydrologist (10+ years as an Engineer at USGS), I’ve tested over 1000 wells across all of South Carolina. Wells of every variety, farm wells (huge), deep aquifer wells on the coast, hundreds of residential, commercial and monitoring wells. Whoever Robert Castilto is, he clearly doesn’t know how to do the work. A well they put in on my parents home provides 2 gpm for a 5 bedroom 3 bath, 2 story home. Just what? How did anyone think that was enough.

    Response from the owner

This reviewer was not our customer and did not hire Sharpe’s to drill, repair, or service this well. He is a family member of the homeowner involved in the separate dispute referenced in another review. Several of the technical conclusions stated here are expressly identified by the reviewer himself as assumptions, and they do not reflect the complete documented history of this well. Most importantly, after the original well installation, the well sustained significant physical damage during grading operations before the current homeowner purchased the property. Sharpe’s was later called back to repair that third-party damage. We maintain the original well records and subsequent service history and strongly disagree with unsupported conclusions regarding the well depth, construction, development, aquifer selection, employee competence, and cause of the later pump failure. We welcome reviews from customers based on their actual experience with our company. We also believe technical claims about another person’s property should be based on the complete documented record rather than assumptions.

I can’t say enough about this company and Randi is as genuine as they come. You can trust you are working with good people that want to help! They have rescued me on a weekend at that and I will refer them till the cows come home. Wells and Septic …you won’t go wrong!

I would not recommend this company. Very unprofessional and doesn't seem to stand by their work (unless its to charge you more). We had work done on our house, and while the septic installation was fine, the well component was/is an absolute nightmare to deal with. We had a different company come out to quote us on how to fix the issues and they noted that clients often call to follow up on work previously done by Sharpes (now, this is anecdotal, so take it with a grain of salt. But based on my experience I can't say I'm surprised).

    Response from the owner

Jake, Can you please call my office 803-755-1615. I do not recall any of what you are describing and do not have your name listed in our customer lists. I believe you may have us confused with another company. I would like to confirm and address any issues you have had with us, if it was us! Thank You _ Randi Hall PS I would like for you to post PROOF that we have completed work for you... INVOICE OR EMAIL OR THE LIKE.

    Rude. Customer service

    Response from the owner

Ms Denniston. None of my staff recognize your name. Can you please elaborate or give me a call. I'd like to know more about your experience--Randi Hall, Manager Ms Denniston, I never heard back.. Could you please call me? I'd like to know more about your experience. 6/5/2026

From the Google listing, checked 30 Aug 2026.

The happy reviewers keep coming back to how quickly the crew moves. Sheila needed a septic line run from her camper to the house tank and says they were able to "fit us in their schedule within a week", then came away pleased with the job. KJ describes a weekend save on wells and septic and counts the people behind the company among those who genuinely want to help. Michael's tank got flushed until it was as close to empty as the job allowed, and he calls the crew fast and friendly with every question answered.

Local Ground

Around Gaston, the main drain-field limit is bottom-layer seepage: water moves through the soil too fast to treat effluent before it reaches groundwater. Site conditions on any one lot can differ from the map. See the Gaston city page for the full soil profile.

Before You Call

When a system starts failing, the hard call is whether repairs can stretch a few more years or whether a new installation is the cleaner path, and that answer depends on the lot itself. If you phone Sharpe's about a new system, one question worth asking is when the crew could walk the property and what they would want to see before drawing up the design.
