It looks like we performed this service back in April, and we’re glad to hear you were able to find a solution for your septic system and get it back up and running. We would, however, like to clarify a few points mentioned in your review. Our original estimate for the repair we recommended was approximately $2,700 including tax, not $5,000. Any electrical work that may have been necessary would have been performed and billed separately by a licensed electrician. When our technicians evaluate a system, our recommendations are based on what we believe will provide the most reliable, long-term repair. We generally recommend addressing components that are showing signs of failure rather than recommending a more limited repair that may or may not resolve the issue long-term. We understand that another service provider may take a different approach, and we’re glad you found a solution that worked for your system. We would also like to clarify the statement that Johnny’s “turned you into the health department.” Skagit County Public Health requires us to file a report on systems that we pump or service, which includes documenting the condition and operational status of the system components at the time of our service. This is a standard reporting requirement and was not related in any way to your decision to decline our recommended repair or seek a second opinion. As a licensed septic service provider, we are required to accurately report the conditions our technicians observe at the time of service.
