Just had our roof replaced and I’m really happy with how it all went. The crew was professional, efficient, and easy to deal with the whole time. They showed up when they said they would, worked hard, and left everything looking clean when they completed the job. We are very satisfied and would definitely use them again.

    Response from the owner

Ezekiel, We’re very sorry to hear about your mother’s injury and hope she is recovering well. Safety is always our top priority, and we take any incident very seriously. To clarify the situation: Project Details: HJ Construction was contracted by the Athens Housing Authority to replace the roofing systems on 44 government subsidized housing apartments. All residents were provided written notice from the owner before work began, with instructions to exercise caution while crews were on-site. The contract allows work hours from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., Monday through Saturday. Cleanup & Safety: All construction debris is removed at the end of each workday to maintain a safe environment around each job site. Incident Involving Our Team: As we understand based on several eye witness accounts, Mr. Schmaltz's mother walked outside during construction and appeared to stumble when attempting to put on her shoes, none of the witnesses saw her fall. Mr. Schmaltz and his sister confronted one of our team members with aggressive verbal accusations that their mother had tripped on construction debris. This situation escalated to the point where police had to be notified to ensure everyone’s safety. The General Manager of the Athens Housing Authority has provided a written account of the incident indicating no fault on the part of HJ Construction. While we regret that tensions ran high, professionalism and respect remain core to our values. We will continue to enforce strict site safety standards, ensure thorough cleanup, and maintain open communication with the Athens Housing Authority. If you’d like to discuss this matter directly, please contact us at trusthj@hjconcon.com. HJ Construction Contractors

My husband and I purchased a home in Athens and the inspector said it needed some work, we were okay with that. HJ Construction came highly recommended. We called Hector and he came out with Cary to look and bid the work that needed to be done. Let’s just say it was ALOT more than the inspection showed. Hector and his crew did an AMAZING job bringing our house up to code , and we ended up doing almost a complete remodel with them. This is now my dream home, not just a house that needed some repair.

HJ Construction did a fantastic job on our bathroom/laundry room/dog room renovation. They had to take it to the studs in order to repair some old structural damage and repair plumbing and electrical that was originally installed incorrectly. They completed the job within their quoted TAT and made sure to add all the additional details that we wanted!

We had another great experience with HJ Construction! The team from HJ Construction was on time and knocked the job out in no time. Additionally, they identified a couple of other minor items that needed attention and addressed them while they were onsite. We were once again pleased with the craftsmanship and attentiveness given to our project.

    Response from the owner

Thank you sir, glad we were able to help!
