I had my shower/tub valve replaced by Val Betti when we retiled our tub and shower enclosure. It was a very pleasant experience from beginning to end. Ryan, the plumber, was very courteous, professional, and neat. The price was reasonable and they did an excellent job.

Val just did amazing quick and incredibly reasonably priced water main work at our house in Orinda... and they are creative problem solvers diagnosing and resolving issues without ripping everything (driveways, etc) up like other companies want to do. 5 stars ALL the way, look no further !! I would use Val for everything plumbing.... THANK YOU VAL ! 🤘🏼

    Response from the owner

Thank you for the kind words Ben!

The good: They came quickly, tech was friendly, resolved my problem. The bad: a bit expensive. Turned out I just needed a snake for my bathtub drain - they wanted to charge me $350. When I balked at the price, they lowered it to $295. According to google AI, that's still a very high price for a quick snake.

Outstanding service! Mitch is probably the most professional and honest plumber! Quickly diagnosed the issue (which was completely accurate) and explained what was required. Fantastic! Another earlier bid from an unnamed local plumbing company was wildly incorrect and very expensive for unnecessary work. We had last used Val Betti 30 years ago for our first house, so I remembered to call them and are happy they also work in P. Hill. Highly reccommend.

Avoiding the big job is what several of these accounts describe. Ben describes water main work at a house in Orinda done without tearing up the driveway, which he contrasts with what other companies had proposed. Pricing comes up in both directions. Ronald describes a binder of services and prices brought to the door, while another customer found a bathtub drain clearing expensive and negotiated it down, so asking for the price list is worth doing before the work starts.

Before You Call

A camera turns a guess into a diagnosis and often removes the need to dig at all. Ask whether the inspection is included before agreeing to any excavation.
