My wife and I had the pleasure meeting Derek when we contacted him for an emergency situation last week. After a strong smell was present within our home, we encountered a sewage backup in our mechanical room from our floor drain. Being new to a septic systems, we didn’t have much knowledge about service and maintenance. Derek was working in the area near Hammond’s Plains that day and arrived as promised after completing his previous job.

Derek was amazing to work with, his expertise and knowledge is next level. The customer service aspect puts him beyond ten stars. You will never second guess your decision to use his services, best in the Halifax area.

If I could leave zero stars, I would. In 2017 after buying our first very modest home, Derek replaced the existing septic system. Everything that could be wrong with the new system, was. It completely failed. The pipes were exposed, the toilet connections on backwards. Septic was leaking into the basement as well as the ground. The rest of the homes grey water was not routed into the septic but rather was still going out into the ditch beside the house. The yard was not smoothed and couldn’t be tilled because the pipes were too high and exposed.

Before You Call

An aging system forces a choice, keep repairing what is there or put in a new one. The Septic Doctor Inc. takes on both repairs and new installation, so it is fair to ask on the phone at what point they would call a system beyond saving.
