They did a full septic tank replacement, charged $13k and filled the entire yard with sand when done. No topsoil used, never asked us if we wanted topsoil, and left the yard in no condition to grow grass in addition, left an exposed drainage pipe right next to the deck. Left two young employees unsupervised for the entire project. Would never recommend. Beware.

AVOID AT ALL COST! I contacted the company to get a quote for septic service. Being first time home owners we were unsure what to expect and what a TERRIBLE experience to start off with. I talked to Duane who told be what they charged for the process, and for digging up lids. Informed me that if we decided to go with them they would contact the health department to get drawings of the location of our tank. Pricing for digging up the lids would be $75/ 30 minutes. I scheduled for 8/21/26.

Had to get my tank pumped and Shelar was super helpful and informative. Even gave me a number to a local company when I mentioned well trouble. He didn't just give me their number she contact them on my behalf. As someone who delays making calls...this was super helpful.

Around Jackson, the main drain-field limit is bottom-layer seepage: water moves through the soil too fast to treat effluent before it reaches groundwater. Site conditions on any one lot can differ from the map. See the Jackson city page for the full soil profile.

Before You Call

A slowing drain or a tank that has not been emptied in years leaves one decision: whether a pump-out buys time or a new system is the smarter next step. Shelar Sanitation works both sides of that call, pumping tanks and putting in new ones. Worth asking on the phone, given what your system is doing right now, whether they would pump first or start planning an install.
