Septic Services in Ceres

Quoted from the website of Roto-Rooter Plumbing & Water Cleanup, read 15 Sept 2026.

In Ceres, the company offers hydro-jetting to clear the main sewer line, along with camera inspection of that line. Routine septic tank cleaning is recommended as well, to prevent slow drains, foul odors and sewage backups. Soil surveys map 76.6% of rated ground around Ceres as somewhat limited for septic absorption fields, and the main reason is slow water movement. Water leaves that soil too slowly, which is the condition a leach field works against, so how a drain field behaves can shift from one lot to the next.

I had a outside leak at one of my rentals, between the city water and where the main enters the house. I had never used rotor rooter and thought I would call them out. Well, he said the line coming from the street was galvanized metal, and needed to be replaced. Estimate, $7500.00. I thought this was insane, so I called another plumber out. He actually dug up the pipe, ( which was PVC, NOT galvanized) and found a small dime size hole about a foot down. He worked 2 hours and charged me $200 plus parts ( $40) I'm so glad I went with my gut. Does every roto rooter try to rip people off this bad?

Called roto rooter and scheduled an appt, no one ever showed up. I called the office and the lady said they left a voicemail but I never received a voicemail. Last voicemail i received was last week. How are you going to setup appts and not honor them.

I have to give them a 3 star cause the initial young man that came was really good. Josh was his name. He came back the next day cause we had water back up again. However, this time around a supervisor came along with a camara. Normally 495.00 but this time was (free). This time, Nick was his name saw broken pipes and tree roots so he recommended two options to replace the affected area. About 10-15 feet of pipe, 4800.00 plus or same length but trenchless for 9500.00. I called the City about their tree, they came out and found a 3rd cleanout for me.

    Response from the owner

Not professional, We were given estimate of $250 to replace small part on water heater and changed $375. When we asked to have charge adjusted we were ignored. Regional manager was unhelpful he is a crook and lowlife to do this to customer. Never again will I use roto rotor.

    Response from the owner

Customer satisfaction is our priority, and we regret any inconvenience caused. Please reach out to our customer service team to discuss this further. Thank you for letting us know!

Before You Call

The first decision with a struggling system is where the trouble sits: a blocked main line is a job for hydro-jetting, while a tank in need of emptying is a job for septic pumping. Roto-Rooter does both, so a single phone call can settle which one the house needs. One question worth asking on that call is whether they would run a camera down the line before quoting a repair.
