About Patriot River Excavating

From the website of Patriot River Excavating, read 15 Sept 2026. It describes what the company says it offers, not independent verification.

Patriot River Excavating designs and installs new septic systems, shaping each one around what the property needs. We recently hired Patriot River Excavating for two big projects, updating the leach lines for our current home and installing a new septic system for a new ADU, along with the foundation work for the ADU. Overall, we were very pleased with the results! Craig was fantastic to work with, he’s a great communicator and kept us informed throughout the entire process. He was always available to answer questions and made sure we were on the same page at every step. His attention to detail and deep knowledge of the job made us feel confident that we were in good hands.

Craig Hansen is an excellent contractor who installed my new septic system. He was always concerned that I was informed and pleased as to what he was doing all of the time. He worked with the inspectors at El Dorado county to make sure everthing was up to code.

    Response from the owner

Thank you Jon, it was a pleasure working with you, glad to get your septic issues resolved quickly. Thank you

From the Google listing, checked 30 Aug 2026.

Reviews describe Craig Hansen doing the work himself and staying in touch from start to finish. Ken's leach field backed up, and he says the crew came out the same day, hand dug to confirm the trouble, then returned the next day with an excavator to replace the failed distribution blocks. New installs come up again and again. Maddie's new build had a full septic system placed within a few weeks, and John credits Craig with keeping him informed while he worked with El Dorado County inspectors so the job met code.

Before You Call

Choosing between a fresh system and more years out of the current one is the call most homeowners face first. Patriot River Excavating can take either path, since the same crew designs and installs new systems and keeps tanks cleaned and maintained. One question worth asking on the phone: would they design for your lot, or start with a cleaning and see how the present setup holds?
