They came and replaced our septic with a different kind of system. fine. THEN! They left my yard looking like a bunch of hogs had gone through it! They left my yard looking so much worse than when they found it! Caved in dirt, muddy, hillside collapsing. It washes out when it rains because there’s nothing holding it. I asked them to come out and bring more dirt to fill in where it had settled around the tanks etc. he didn’t feel like it was their responsibility. But he was happy to bring dirt for 400 dollars. 😑 now about 6 months later it’s settled even worse.

Around Elgin, the main drain-field limit is slow water movement: water leaves the soil too slowly for a conventional field to keep up. Site conditions on any one lot can differ from the map. See the Elgin city page for the full soil profile.
