    Hire this company!! I’m in Charlotte and found Gate City on youtube trying to figure out what the heck the contractor who I hired to fix my sagging floors did…I reached out to Shawn to see if he happened to do work in the Charlotte area, after a couple days I figured, “he’s busy and must not work in the area” and a couple hours later I received a thoughtful and informative response with recommendations and tips/tricks. I was blown away. He doesn't work in the area, but was kind enough to spend the time to go above and beyond. This is a contractor YOU CAN TRUST.

    Shawn came to my home, gave me a price quote, I agreed for him to do the job, he scheduled and rescheduled the work several times due to weather and his workers were doing other things. I had several conversations with Shawn over two months regarding when he could do the work and he simply ghosted me. I would not recommend him.

    Robin [was] a mountain biking friend of mine. I've done a ton of work at his and his son's house. This specific job was supposed to be pretty simple and I wasn't even going to charge him for it, but it rained for two months straight and we couldn't get it scheduled. I had known previously of Robin's reputation within the mountain biking community as being an entitled ****; specifically, criticizing club members for their work on our mountain bike trails, engaging in online (or email) rants, and other entitled behaviors without even being a club member or giving back. This is exactly what I experienced after the months of rain and rescheduling. He threw a ranting fit in a text asking if he was even important to me and why we couldn't get the work done. I had been communicating with him through the frustrating weather and delays, but after that text display, I was worried this might damage our friendship. I did indeed ghost him after that because I didn't know what else to say to such a rant. Imagine the type of person who would go online and leave a review on someone who had done many favors and rode bikes with you for several years. That sad person is Robin Beasley.

    Gate City Foundation Drainage gets my rock-solid endorsement. After reaching out to them about a drainage problem causing water to enter our basement, the situation was evaluated and fixed quickly with notable professionalism. Shawn and his crew upgraded our deteriorated drainage system within a few days of contacting them. They were prompt, friendly, and focused on the quality of their design and construction. They successfully navigated a tricky element of the engineering and left the work area clean. We are now able to relax during heavy rains.
