We used ABC Septic Services on Dec 2, 2021 to inspect the septic system of the home we were purchasing in Shelton, CT. At that time, no visible difficulties were apparent. The recommendation was for a cleaning one year from the date of inspection and every 2 yrs thereafter. 13 mos later, we just installed a new septic tank that was found enviromentally hazardous and had to be destroyed on sight. Tried reaching out to the original inspector, Mike Huminski of ABC Septic, several times, to zero success. Don't waste your money, find a real inspector.

Dear Cindy: At the time of the inspection there were no visible problems with your septic tank or leaching area which is underneath your driveway. The photo you provided shows the outlet pipe (green) going back towards the house, not the leaching area. The original tank was 41 years old, and if any vehicles happened to drive over it that alone could have caused your tank to fail. I am sorry that you had to go through this experience, and can only say that your issue did not exist at the time of the inspection that we performed.
